We can’t be there personally (my dream though is to someday have the funds to allow us to jet off and provide live coverage of bakery openings) but we will be there in spirit (and in person in September). Dear Abby: My parents are both in their 80s, and I try to stay in touch with them as often as possible. Unfortunately, one issue I cannot get through to them is when to call 911 for help. Example: If Mom trips and falls, Dad needs to call 911 rather than struggle to help her up.

A post-Columbian setting for the Book of Mormon

The result of writing Book of Mormon history from back to front, I think, resembles a cross between The Mission and Last of the Mohicans . Before we set off down the rabbit hole, let me emphasize that this particular exercise is probably only useful in rare cases. I’m about to conjure away some basic elements of the Book of Mormon, which for some people are non-negotiable foundations of the text, and my reasons for doing so may not seem terribly compelling.
