Drawer Hardware, Or No Drawer Hardware? That Is The Question. (And Your Input Is Appreciated!)

Happy New Year to you!! I hope this new year is off to a good start for you. I’ve been taking full advantage of my long holiday weekend by getting some projects finished around the TLC. I had an incredibly proud moment Thursday, when I installed my garbage disposal and rerouted the plumbing under the sink (from my old two-basin sink to the current single-basin sink), and I did it all by myself

Sneak Peek:: Dining Area With Built-In Seating

I woke up this morning with every muscle in my body aching. I worked so hard yesterday on my tiny little condo, and I’m so anxious to show you what I accomplished. My condo is so tiny that it doesn’t have a dining room, per se.

A Word About My New Sink (and Breathing a Sigh Of Relief)

After writing yesterday’s post, and admiring my beautiful countertops in the pictures, I was suddenly struck with panic. In the pictures, my new sink looks so incredibly small.See how small it looks? If I didn’t know better, I’d think it was just a little prep sink! But still having not used the sink (I’m waiting to call the plumber until the countertops dry fully), I began to think that perhaps

Is It Wrong To Say I Love This Sink?

Okay, I haven’t even received it yet (delivery was delayed because of our pesky security gate), but I can’t even tell you how excited I am about receiving my new sink today! And yes, I felt a little silly even writing that.I know how strange it sounds.

I’m Getting New Cabinet Doors (Pssstt…I Need Your Opinion!)

Remember the other day when I shared what I’ve accomplished so far on my family room? I mentioned that the center cabinet wasn’t finished yet, as I eventually wanted to reconfigure the doors so that the cabinets look less “kitchen-y”

Happy Thanksgiving!

Give thanks to the LORD,for he is good;his love endures forever.-Psalm 107:1I wish each of you a very happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday! And don’t forget to take some time today to actually give thanks for the blessings in your life. As everyone’s favorite talking vegetables reminds us, a thankful heart is a happy heart! (That was a reference to Veggie Tales, in case anyone was confused.) :)

Shopping For Christmas? Consider Fair Trade Gifts!

Just this morning, I learned about a great online fair trade resource called Trade As One. It’s always fun to purchase beautiful products for myself or as a gift for someone, but it’s even more rewarding to know that the proceeds are going to help less fortunate people in other countries earn a fair wage. They have products in many categories, including jewelry, stationery, bags, sports & toys,

It’s no secret that I love Mexican folk art and so I was thrilled to see that MOZI’s new range of (always) cool homewares – “Fiesta de MOZI” – incorporates a strong Mexican aesthetic. Maybe a few of these new pieces will make me feel better for missing El Dia de los Muertos this year. You can choose from gorgeous folky birds on fine bone china mugs, tea towels, waffle hand towels, and

What Does Boston Mean To You?

Last night I attended a fabulous Christofle event celebrating the opening of their store on Boylston Street. Positioned across from Boston Common and in between the eye-catching turquoise canopies that provide entry for some of the most luxurious boutiques Boston has to offer, Christofle is certainly one store you don’t want to miss. Upon entering, I was met with a stunning collection of sterling silver jewelry, flatware, serving platters, and an assortment of decadent home accessories that would add Parisian elegance to any space.

Modern Electronics You Can’t Live Without

When it comes down to it, Apple certainly takes the cake in terms of dishing out the latest in fashionable, high-tech, and user-friendly electronics which is what makes their products so irresistible. While I can’t say that I’ve already made the switch over to a Mac, I can certainly vouch for its incredible features and inspirational design after testing them out in the past. If the Mac’s ability to help unleash your creative ideas isn’t enough reason for you to protect this hot commodity, then perhaps the price tag will motivate you to invest in a protective case for you to use in your travels

DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS

One of my favorite aspects of the design world is when talented artists and designers come together to put on an event for a cause and DIFFA is the perfect example for just that. Modern Furniture Inspired by Science

Whether scientists are studying an organ, a cell, or a chemical compound, they analyze the structure of that particular subject and its properties. Seeing as how the many facets of science focus on the design of any one object, it makes perfect sense for someone to become inspired and develop a piece of furniture or décor around this idea. Interior design combines the eloquence of art and the technicality of science in order to form a unique piece of furniture, but what happens when we take a literal approach to the world of home design?

What Can A Refrigerator Say About You?

I have a group of friends that love to send out a few surveys every now and then that either promises to tell your future or gives you a complete synopsis on your personality in about five minutes. Normally I’m not one to partake in those types of emails but a certain personality test that was sent to my blog email really caught my eye in a number of ways. Amana , a leading home appliance manufacturer has teamed up with Style network’s Dress My Nest host Thom Filicia to create ten new refrigerator designs in a variety of different colors and styles

Wine Racks: The Gift That’s Always in Style

Last weekend I went to the Boston Wine Expo for my second year in a row and I couldn’t believe the enormous crowd that attended! For me, the idea of traveling the world of vineyards in one afternoon is amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better event. Even though I’ve had my fair share of wine, I began to really appreciate the work and expertise behind making each bottle when I lived in Spain for six months. For them, wine is just as important as the food
