Move to trial of war crimes politically motivated: Nizami

UNB, Dhaka Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami yesterday said the government’s move for holding the trial of war criminals is nothing but “manifestation of its political vengeance” towards its opponents. “Those who are now talking too much about war crimes, a settled issue, are identified anti-Islamic forces of the country,” he said while addressing a meeting of the party Majlish-e-Shura at Al Falah auditorium in the morning. He went on: “Neither an FIR nor a GD could be filed against those whose names are appearing in the media with allegations of war crimes.

Using Natural SKincare to combat Allergies & Eczema

All my life I have been a girl of self indulgence. I just loved baths, creams and body sprays, with one major problem, I was severely allergic to those chemical laden products, and was left using so called pure soaps that still left me with dry skin that was often accompanied by a rash. With a chemistry and nursing background, I soon learned enough about skin conditions and the chemical makeup of some of those product out on the market.

Friday Fun: Babies on Skates

It’s a summer Friday and thus The Juggle turns away from the stresses of the daily grind and ponders “babies on skates.” The term was the most searched on Google on Thursday morning, when folks started hunting for this Evian commercial , which features babies wheeling around to the hip-hop classic “Rapper’s Delight.” The commercial joins the baby commercial lexicon, along with the E-Trade baby (nearly 3 million views). These sorts of videos have been a popular Web thing since the ’90s when this video of a digitally rendered dancing baby was emailed around and eventually was used on the television show Ally McBeal.

Be like the plinth people: not set in stone

The Trafalgar Square fourth plinth project didn’t start that well. It got hijacked before it began — by an anti-smoking campaigner of all things. That’s a bit retro, isn’t it? Who’s next? The suffragettes? I guess they’d instinctively head for the plinth next door, to throw themselves in front of King George IV’s horse.

Obama’s direct line to the heart of Africa

You need only read the heartrending Africa chapters of Dreams from My Father to realise that Barack Obama gets Africa. He struggles with his own feuding Kenyan family, where poorer members scrounge off richer ones, and he agonises over why this continent, full of smart, energetic people and rich in resources cannot get its act together. His own catchphrase, “Yes We Can”, seems to be answered by Africa’s, “But We Don’t”

Playing politics in a land of double Dutch

So many of the Dutch speak such near-perfect English that the tiny mistakes they do make can jar scarily — like when a Vulcan posing as a human gives the game away by a small but key failure to emote. Battling through the endless security checks, concrete barriers and razor-wire fences that must be negotiated before one gains access to any secure compound in Afghanistan, I was encouraged to see a spectacularly good-looking young Dutch soldier walking towards me with a most engaging smile.

The massacre of Uighur demonstrators in the cities of Urumqi and Kashgar has been reported in every language, from English to Chinese to Portuguese to Arabic. Back from Cali, knitting socks and staying off my feet…fun times!

Been awhile again since my last post.  I don’t know what it is, but I just can’t seem to find the time or the energy for the computer these days for some reason.  I can’t remember the last time I actually checked my email.  If anyone has sent me anything and I haven’t responded, sorry.  I’m more apt to see something you send me on Facebook or Twitter than I am in an email…LOL  Kind of sad, huh?!?! So I went to California on June 9th and stayed for 3 weeks.  Seeing my mother is always so great
