UPDATE: This subject has gotten a lot of attention after a lot of buzz (no pun intended) in the press. Unfortunately, as with many stories like this, it turns out to have been too good to be true. Engineers and NOAA experts heading up the Gulf Oil spill cleanup announced that the use of booms made of hair is simply not feasible.

No matter what your engagement looks like, it can be fun to add some extra to it’s look with either a single band, a double band, or a wrap. Blood Diamonds or Conflict Diamonds are a major source of discussion both within the jewelry industry and about the jewelry industry. I have always been disgusted by what goes on in some African countries that gives some diamonds the mark of being blood diamonds so I try to educate myself on how to avoid diamonds coming out of those countries. Diamonds that are designated as conflict diamonds come out of countries where people are killed and maimed over diamonds.
