Who was the lucky recipient of a floating diamond necklace from Jason of Beverly Hills, a Louboutin Spike Purse, a pair of Gucci Anaconda, Louboutin BoBo and Let Me Tell You Something shoes? All of this loot went to one lucky Cheryl Burke on her birthday – all gifts from her Dancing With The Stars partner, Chad OchoCinco! This on TOP of the $10,000 diamond ring he gave her a few weeks ago. I guess this Twitpic Chad took of the lucky lady says is all.

Blood Diamonds

Blood Diamonds or Conflict Diamonds are a major source of discussion both within the jewelry industry and about the jewelry industry. I have always been disgusted by what goes on in some African countries that gives some diamonds the mark of being blood diamonds so I try to educate myself on how to avoid diamonds coming out of those countries. Diamonds that are designated as conflict diamonds come out of countries where people are killed and maimed over diamonds.

Grilled Kibbeh

Kibbeh is a torpedo shaped crunchy appetizer ,adored not just in Middle East but also in the Middle Eastern eateries around here.The authentic Syrian spring kibbeh stuffed with fresh home made cheese was embraced by the 2 hostesses(Nisrin and Mona) for the Walima cooking club this month.Yearning in vain for fresh cheese,my recreation of kibbeh is void of any stuffing but I did add a touch of vegetables to make up for the flavor.Usually deep fried,I chose to grill,although one can also BBQ or bake them.And for my vegetarian viewers who wish to make these,there is good news,the soy granules work just as well as the minced meat. Bulgur The other main ingredient is the bulgur wheat,that is not the same as cracked wheat.Bulgur wheat is quicker to cook,for its is par boiled and toasted before breaking them unlike the cracked wheat which is broken directly from the wheat berries.

Chelsea Clinton’s Engagement Ring Photos

Blurry though they may be, at long last Chelsea Clinton diamond engagement ring photos are making the rounds this week. The Huffington Post published these shots captured while the uber-offspring was taking in the premiere of Broadway’s latest hit, “Promises, Promises”. JIC Collects 10 Best Proposals

Jewelry hounds, I’ve got good news: romance is alive and well in America. The Jewelry Information Center (JIC) just unveiled its nationwide search for the best engagement proposal, and they’ve collected 10 incredible stories that make the ‘Jewelry Store Proposal ‘ I wrote about yesterday look like amateur hour. One guy took the time to plant tulip bulbs (his honey’s favorite flower) that spelled out the words “Marry Me?” when they bloomed – after 6 months of careful primping and pruning! Another fella created a scavenger hunt that culminated with a diamond ring and a gaggle of his girlfriend’s childhood chums there to celebrate.

A Jewelry Store Proposal?

Diamond rings have been given by way of champagne flute, dessert dish and just plain old bended knee, but recently one New Yorker used a jewelry store window to do the deed – and do it well. The New York Daily News reports that one creative Manhattanite used an Upper East Side jeweler’s display window to stage a fancy wedding proposal for the love of his life – and she said “yes.” “Oh, my God, it is beautiful,” Alex Routenberg (26) said, as Tom DeBourcy (26) slipped a 2-carat diamond ring on her finger.

World’s Largest Diamond Pendant

The largest diamond pendant that made into the Guinness World Records is owned by Rapper LIL’ JON (Jonathan Smith) that says “Crunk Ain’t Dead” valued at $500,000. The pendant was created by jeweler in Beverly Hills. The pendant is made up of 73 carat, 3,756 round white diamonds in yellow and white gold setting
