Tony Curtis: From Pants Suits to Pearl Strands

Diamonds may have been Marilyn Monroe’s best friend, but pearls were the pretty companion of Tony Curtis in their iconic film “Some Like It Hot” – a movie masterpiece that I’m sure many will revisit now that the last living member of the film’s trio has passed away. For the uninitiated: “Some Like It Hot,” is a1959 film in which Curtis and Jack Lemmon played small-time jazz musicians who witnessed the St

Beware Diamond Drop Shippers

Before buying a diamond it is very important to ensure that the diamond advertised by the jeweller or online diamond store is actually owned by them and that the diamond is in stock and not overseas. Far too many jewellers and online diamond dealers advertise diamonds that they do not own, have never seen and To read complete article please click on the title

Lindsay Lohan: Jewelry Lover to Jailbird

Lindsay Lohan was spotted last night at Ana De Costa’s jewelry show in Los Angeles looking fresh-faced and ready to consume – far from the frightened soon-to-be sentenced drama queen we might have expected. The jewelry show featured D-listers Brittny and Lisa Gastineau’s new jewelry line, ‘Tres Glam’ which features their signature ‘eye’ theme – a power symbol known to ‘ward off danger’ according to the mother-daughter duo.

Color-Changing Sapphires, A Love Story

Sapphires aren’t just the blingy blue bauble often likened to the color of Elizabeth Taylor’s eyes – they’re crazy chameleons that wear a coat of many colors. While deep blue is certainly what most of us think of when it comes September’s birthstone , the gem also comes in a rainbow of hues – from pink and green to yellow and red (also known as – a ruby !) Cool, right? But sapphires have a special shade that I recently discovered, and it’s downright drool-worthy: the color-changing sapphire.

The Situation – Gym, Tan, Laundry, Jewelry?

He may not have won the judges’ hearts on Dancing With The Stars last night, but Jersey Shore’s alpha male, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, is betting his 15 minutes will get him a piece of the jewelry pie like all the other D-listers worth their salt (see Kelly Bensimon , Tori Spelling, and Priscilla Presley for more). So, here’s the situation: Sorrentino is partnering with Jeff George of Luxury Laces to start a line of rosary necklaces and sneaker jewelry. What good Italian Catholic boy wouldn’t want to wear Rosary beads while he creeps, right?

Blingy Butterfly Gets The Royal Treatment

Now that the jewelry-barren landscape that was New York Fashion Week is behind me, it’s time to get back to blingy basics. And there’s no better way to celebrate than by ogling this bodacious butterfly bauble that just joined the storied coffers of the Smithsonian Institution. Designed by Cindy Chao, the “Royal Butterfly” is a three-dimensional diamond-and gemstone-studded brooch that took over two years to create.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 – Keep it Stylish

New York Fashion Weeks are undoubtedly one of the major international fashion weeks. It is twice a year that this show opens its door to the world, one is with its Autumn or Winter collection and the second is with its Spring or Summer Collection

Mad About Marchesa

Shut the front door! Marchesa just hit a Fashion Week home run with their stunning presentation of Oscar-worthy gowns. I’m sure Rachel Zoe has already hoarded the highlights for her growing list of A-listers. With jewelry a veritable no-show on the runways this season, it’s nice to get a lower jaw-drop moment from the fashion at least, and Style.com reports onlookers were gasping aloud in awe at the daring display of drapery.

Fashion Week Jewelry: Missing or Minimal

Jewelry hounds, I waited the proverbial 24 hours (ok, five days) before filing a Missing Person Report, but I think I can officially now declare: There is no jewelry at New York Fashion Week. From Donna Karan and Carolina Herrera to Diane von Furstenberg and (even!) Marc Jacobs, the design powerhouses have chosen not to accessorize this season with the by now ubiquitous layered bangle or statement necklace – heck, even a hoop earring from what I can tell

Blingy Barbie Fetes Fashion Week

Before I get consumed with New York Fashion Week craziness, I had to bring your attention to the most important thing you’ll read about this week: The Word’s Rarest Barbie! (Who needs an Obama press conference when you’ve got a Barbie in a right hand ring, people?) Mattel asked famous jewelry designer, Stefano Canturi , to put our favorite toast to feminism in his Cubism jewelry – and he did them one better by throwing in a real 1-carat Argyle pink diamond for good measure. All told, her bling includes over three carats of white diamonds set in a signature Canturi necklace with an empowering right-hand diamond ring to boot – which is why her price tag is a record-setting $545,000 (!) DeBeers Barbie?

Joe and the Giant Rock

Girls will definitely go wild for the huge diamond engagement ring Joe Francis recently presented to his fiance, Christina McLarty, a Los Angeles entertainment reporter. The Girls Gone Wild CEO commissioned one of my favorite jewelry designers, Loree Rodkin , to create the ring – and she knocked it out of the park with a nine-carat rock in a diamond pave band with diamonds surrounding the center stone, according to Luxist. And the price tag

Is Kat Von D Engaged to Jesse James?

Call me crazy, but that is, indeed, a diamond on Kat Von D’s ring finger, right? The heavily-inked artist was out in LA celebrating both the opening of her new gallery, Wonderland, and her new relationship with Sandra Bullock’s lying, cheating ex – Jesse James – when photogs snapped a few close-up shots of what appears to be a lovely vintage diamond engagement ring. While it’s no surprise the tattooed twosome found some things in common, they only started dating a month ago – and James’ heavily covered cheating scandal still smells like a rat.

Jet-Set Jewelry at the 2010 Venice Film Festival

The 2010 Venice Film Festival kicked off yesterday with a smattering of parties, premieres and pretty people. And while the well-known celebrities are always a big draw (Natalie Portman and Jessica Alba are already turning heads), my favorite film festival pastime is gawking at the jet-set jewelry on miscellaneous red carpet passersby. Here are some of my favorites so far.

Royal Wedding Round-up

The diamond tiara se t is out and about again – this time at the royal wedding of Prince Nikolaos of Greece to longtime love, Miss Tatiana Blatnik (an event planner for Diane von Furstenberg). While the bride was the only one with a tiara to triumph ( check out Jewelry.com for details ), the usual suspects showed up in their summer best.
