I’ve been meaning to post this and may have already done so (all this traveling is killing my memory) but anyway, set your Tivos and mark your calendars – June 18th cupcakes go prime time (and on the horizon is Cupcake Sisters on TLC with the sisters behind Georgetown Cupcake). Chocolate cake, muffins and two birthdays in one week, here at the TreatHer office we’ve been slightly over-indulging during the Valentine’s Day rush. (We did manage to nibble on a few carrots on Friday, if that’s any consolation.) Ok so it has nothing to do with gifts but it’s a new week and a new healthy start for us – she says munching on a banana. So we were wondering if it’s possible to resist temptation on Pancake Day

You catch a glimpse of this green almost every time you are at the market,but still haven’t made the move to embraced it ,despite learning its health benefits.Why? Remember, when its comes to cooking with Kale ,it is as versatile as spinach.Its not bitter,mild tasting and if you can cook with spinach, then why not with kale,unless its unavailable.The recipes posted should give you the confidence to make the move for the good. Kale’s fixed in this recipe with good old pancakes from the land of spices,other wise known as Dosa.Not everyday,but at least once every weekend we feast on dosa.And trying a new medley each week,by mixing and matching the proportion of lentils,greens,herbs and grains,is exciting for me and nourishing for a family meal.

I totally love this wedding cake. And I get to see a lot of beautiful cakes! For a toddler turning three,the pure chocolate cake was perfect to celebrate the special day and also accomplishing to his mom ,who shares the same chocolate passion. His adventures seem to have gotten even more advanced since he was two .Jumping on the bed,fetching his favorite food from the refrigerator or kitchen counter,sliding down the stairs,wrestling with his big brother,examining all the closets and drawers,gladly after all that exploring, running and jumping around the house,he does settle for quite time reading and imaginative play. Considering his liking for an equally adventurous species in one his favorite books “Five little monkeys Jumping on the bed”,I guess he got the most appropriate gift for this special day,the five little monkeys board game,and thankfully the imaginative toy kept him busy for most part of his special day

CinnabonTheOaks at The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks, California, has been Tweeting about it: They also posted that they’re taking orders for Valentine’s Day cupcakes (805-371-8869) – it’s unclear if these are the ones pictured below or special ones.

That figure caught my eye as I pictured 600,000 cupcakes! From WKYC : Baker and co-owner Sean Nock said, “We know that anybody can make a vanilla or chocolate cupcake. But can you make a chocolate cupcake with a caramel cream filling with a chocolate ganache on top with some sliced almonds?” Nock added, “We already have 190 flavors to choose from and I lay awake at night thinking of new ones!” Since Main Street Cupcakes opened their doors three years ago, they have already sold more than 600,000 cupcakes

I was very excited to discover The Kiss Cupcake at sugar Sweet sunshine (I cap it like that because I believe that’s how they do it, not just to be weird), the bakery that helped inspire this very blog back in the day. It has peppermint cream cheese frosting on chocolate cake and is only $1.50, as are all their cupcakes, which for the price/quality ratio is basically the best you’re going to get in New York City

I saw this press release about New York’s famous Magnolia Bakery opening an outpost in Dubai and for a moment was like, “Is it April Fool’s Day?” Mainly because all the hype has been about their long-awaited Grand Central Station bakery (opening in late February is the latest word) and their Los Angeles outpost (opening in April). Here’s the relevant part of the release: Magnolia Bakery, renowned for its old fashioned, freshly baked desserts, today announced the grand opening of its Dubai annex, the first such location outside of the United States. Through an exclusive territorial license agreement, the new bakery, located in the Bloomingdale’s home store within The Dubai Mall, will be managed and operated by Al Tayer Insignia, the luxury retail company of Al Tayer Group.

Sorry I’ve been MIA, I’m back and apropos of this post, will have a full writeup of my Georgetown Cupcake visit sometime this week. For now, breaking cupcake news…another cupcake reality show!
