You’ve done it again, Cupcake Queen! (Plus, dog + cupcake w/Layla.)

I cannot get enough of Layla, the best cupcakin’ dog ever, and now I am smitten with Layla ’s momma ’s cupcaking. How psychedelic! Groovy! And, imagine my surprise when I went to blog this shot — there’s a shout out to me! *blush* “It’s just another Saturday in the park with these Tie-Dye Cupcakes with Tie-Dye Buttercream frosting…and an ice cream truck, kids, moms, dads, etc.

Cinnabon Now Selling Cupcakes

Updated We will have more news about this soon, but it’s official… Cinnabon is now selling cupcakes. CinnabonTheOaks at The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks, California, has been Tweeting about it: They also posted that they’re taking orders for Valentine’s Day cupcakes (805-371-8869) – it’s unclear if these are the ones pictured below or special ones.

Over 600,000 cupcakes sold at Main Street Cupcakes

That figure caught my eye as I pictured 600,000 cupcakes! From WKYC : Baker and co-owner Sean Nock said, “We know that anybody can make a vanilla or chocolate cupcake. But can you make a chocolate cupcake with a caramel cream filling with a chocolate ganache on top with some sliced almonds?” Nock added, “We already have 190 flavors to choose from and I lay awake at night thinking of new ones!” Since Main Street Cupcakes opened their doors three years ago, they have already sold more than 600,000 cupcakes

The Kissable Valentine’s Day Cupcake at New York’s sugar Sweet sunshine

I was very excited to discover The Kiss Cupcake at sugar Sweet sunshine (I cap it like that because I believe that’s how they do it, not just to be weird), the bakery that helped inspire this very blog back in the day. It has peppermint cream cheese frosting on chocolate cake and is only $1.50, as are all their cupcakes, which for the price/quality ratio is basically the best you’re going to get in New York City

Magnolia Bakery to open cupcake bakery in Dubai

I saw this press release about New York’s famous Magnolia Bakery opening an outpost in Dubai and for a moment was like, “Is it April Fool’s Day?” Mainly because all the hype has been about their long-awaited Grand Central Station bakery (opening in late February is the latest word) and their Los Angeles outpost (opening in April). Here’s the relevant part of the release: Magnolia Bakery, renowned for its old fashioned, freshly baked desserts, today announced the grand opening of its Dubai annex, the first such location outside of the United States. Through an exclusive territorial license agreement, the new bakery, located in the Bloomingdale’s home store within The Dubai Mall, will be managed and operated by Al Tayer Insignia, the luxury retail company of Al Tayer Group.

Reality TV show for Georgetown Cupcake founders

Sorry I’ve been MIA, I’m back and apropos of this post, will have a full writeup of my Georgetown Cupcake visit sometime this week. For now, breaking cupcake news…another cupcake reality show! From The Washington Examiner : Well, for now, they’re giving out the “no comment” line, but for weeks the co-founders of Georgetown Cupcake, Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis, have been gabbing about their impending stardom while out and about in town.

Herbs Barley Lentil Dosa with Almond Sesame Chutney

There are infinite variations to a Dosa.Too bad only one was posted.A poor performing blender kept me from making dosas for long.That changed after buying the Vitamix .Now I can make Dosa at ease in unlimited varieties. This combination Dosa with Barley,lentils and Herbs like Methi and Spinach, no fermentation required ,is the one I’m making more often for weekend brunches

Haiti charity relief cupcakes

This is our first post about bakeries selling cupcakes and doing charity events to help victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti culled from our inbox, Twitter and Facebook.
